Niels Lohmann a47170346a docs: new design for the documentation site (#5934)
* docs: new design for the documentation site

Apply the brand to the Material for MkDocs site: Inter and JetBrains Mono
served by the site (upright and real italic), brand colours, blue header band
with the syntax pattern, wordmark in the header, new home page (hero, cards,
animated feature tour), 404 page, polish for tabs, search, footer, focus
rings, tables and code blocks, and theme features (code copy, previous/next
footer, TOC follow, search suggestions).

Draw the number railroad diagram, the parser callback events and the iterator
illustrations as inline SVGs that follow the light and dark scheme. The
generator scripts are in docs/mkdocs/scripts/figures; the feature slideshow
(json-light.svg, json-dark.svg, replacing json.gif on the home page) is built
by docs/mkdocs/scripts/slideshow. Decision nodes in five flowcharts become
hexagons, which need far less room.

* docs: add figures, table captions and a macro chooser

- Figures with numbered captions: SAX stepper, json_view layout and edit
  stepper, exception map, JSON pointer and patch walkers, QA pipeline,
  scaling and binary size charts, roadmap lanes, release timeline,
  integration decision tree and namespace builder
- Table captions (nj-table-caption) on 9 pages
- Compile times: modules and PCH charts, filesystem section, re-measured
  Figure 1, links between features/modules.md and compile_times.md
- Interactive macro chooser for features/arbitrary_types.md
- Link check: exclude URLs that answer the plugin with 400/401/419 or are
  dead (customers.md)

* docs: macro chooser generates adl_serializer for non-default-constructible types

Signed-off-by: Niels Lohmann <mail@nlohmann.me>

* docs: cross-link concept pages and API pages in See also sections

Add See also links in both directions between the concept pages (features,
home, integration) and the API pages, write API links in code font, give every
entry a comment after a dash, and show the callback event figure on the parser
callbacks page.

* docs: address review comments on the new design

- Home: add a "Latest release" button
- Sponsors: update the list and group it by tier
- Features: list all feature pages on the index page
- Releases: add highlights per release, link the 4.0 roadmap, add the first commit to the timeline
- Exceptions: prefix all example messages with the exception name
- API: no code font for format names in the See also links of the to_/from_ pages
- Merge Patch: show the document before, the patch, and the result
- Replace "--" with typographic dashes, mark external links with an icon, center Mermaid diagrams

nlohmann::basic_json::contains

// (1)
bool contains(const typename object_t::key_type& key) const;

// (2)
template<typename KeyType>
bool contains(KeyType&& key) const;

// (3)
bool contains(const json_pointer& ptr) const;

// (4)
template<typename T>
bool contains(T) const = delete;
  1. Check whether an element exists in a JSON object with a key equivalent to key. If the element is not found or the JSON value is not an object, #!cpp false is returned.
  2. See 1. This overload is only available if KeyType is comparable with #!cpp typename object_t::key_type and #!cpp typename object_comparator_t::is_transparent denotes a type.
  3. Check whether the given JSON pointer ptr can be resolved in the current JSON value.
  4. Deleted: this overload is only available if T is an integral type and is declared as deleted, so that a call with an integer key (for example, #!cpp j.contains(0)) fails to compile. Otherwise, the integer literal 0 would convert to a null #!cpp const char* and, from there, to the key type, causing undefined behavior at runtime.

Template parameters

KeyType
A type for an object key other than json_pointer that is comparable with string_t using object_comparator_t. This can also be a string view (C++17).

Parameters

key (in)
key value to check its existence.
ptr (in)
JSON pointer to check its existence.

Return value

  1. #!cpp true if an element with specified key exists. If no such element with such a key is found or the JSON value is not an object, #!cpp false is returned.
  2. See 1.
  3. #!cpp true if the JSON pointer can be resolved to a stored value, #!cpp false otherwise.
  4. Deleted; a call with an integral argument does not compile.

Exception safety

Strong exception safety: if an exception occurs, the original value stays intact.

Exceptions

  1. The function does not throw exceptions.
  2. The function does not throw exceptions.
  3. The function does not throw exceptions.
  4. Deleted; a call with an integral argument does not compile.

Complexity

  1. Logarithmic in the size of the JSON object.
  2. Logarithmic in the size of the JSON object.
  3. At most one lookup per reference token of ptr, each logarithmic in the size of the container at that level: O(n log m) for n reference tokens and containers of size at most m.
  4. Deleted; a call with an integral argument does not compile.

Notes

  • Overloads (1) and (2) always return #!cpp false when executed on a JSON type that is not an object. Overload (3) also works on arrays and on primitive values: the empty JSON pointer resolves in every JSON value (so #!cpp json(1).contains(""_json_pointer) returns #!cpp true), and #!cpp json({1, 2}).contains("/1"_json_pointer) returns #!cpp true.
  • This method can be executed on any JSON value type.
  • Calling this function with an integer argument (for example, #!cpp contains(0)) does not compile: such an argument would otherwise implicitly convert to a null #!cpp const char* and, from there, cause undefined behavior when constructing a #!cpp std::string for the object key. To check for an array element instead, use at, operator[], or compare against size.

!!! info "Postconditions"

If `#!cpp j.contains(x)` returns `#!c true` for a key or JSON pointer `x`, then it is safe to call `j[x]`.

!!! warning "Deprecation"

Overload (3) also accepts a [`json_pointer`](../json_pointer/index.md) whose template argument is a `basic_json`
specialization (e.g., `nlohmann::json_pointer<nlohmann::json>`) instead of a string type. This is deprecated since
version 3.11.0 and will be removed in a future major version; use `basic_json::json_pointer` (for `json`,
`nlohmann::json_pointer<std::string>`) instead.

You should be warned by your compiler with a `-Wdeprecated-declarations` warning if you are using a deprecated
function.

See the [migration guide](../../integration/migration_guide.md#json-pointers) for how to update existing code.

Examples
